Job description
As a Payment Posting Clerk, the individual will be responsible for the following duties:
1. Posting payments from insurance companies for physician services.
2. Ensuring all payments and adjustments are posted correctly via electronic programs and hand-keyed from paper Explanation of Benefits (EOBs).
3. Ensuring payment batch balances at the end of every day.
4. Ensuing that AF follow up staff get appropriate EOBs with denials to conduct further investigation.
The following qualifications of experience and education are necessary to ensure success in this position:
1. High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
2. Working knowledge of reading Explanation of Benefits (EOBs) and understanding payments and adjustments from insurance companies.
3. Previous experience posting physician payments and adjustments preferred.
4. Strong attention to detail is a must.
