This is what you will do:
The Sr. Manager, Patient Support Program (PSP) is a key contributor to the shaping of our Patient Programs to meet patient needs. The Sr. Manager, PSP will work collaboratively with cross functional team members and be responsible for the overall assigned therapeutic area programs effectiveness. They will be the subject matter expert that will have an in-depth understanding of the patient, the healthcare system and leverages insights to build and enhance the portfolios patient services.
You will be responsible for:
- Responsible for the development and operationalization of the patient experience through the PSP to ensure a seamless well functioning program.
- Responsible for all forecasting and budgeting related to assigned programs.
- Provide input into agreements with the lens of operational excellence within the PSP.
- Proactively look at solutions and bring innovative ideas to evolve PSPs to best in class services.
- Create and implement with assigned programs, an annual operating plan that draws on patient, program and customer insights.
- Work cross functionally and contribute to brand strategic planning
- Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned programs.
- Responsible for continuous improvement in the design and operating model of assigned programs, ensuring that Alexion is capturing the voice of the customer, monitoring the local/regional/global environment, and striving to find efficiencies of scale and scope.
- Implement innovative strategies associated with assigned products to support value to the patient and optimize patient outcomes.
- Engage with external stakeholders and build relationships to optimize assigned programs.
- Support the enhancement of a governance model and ensure it is followed with internal and external stakeholders.
- Ensure all essential documentation is implemented, collected, tracked, and retained.
- Ensure assigned PSP products are fully compliant with local regulations, legislation and global standards.
- Oversee the management of the PSP vendor including optimizing Key Performance Indicators, resourcing, budgets, data outputs, issues management and timely resolution.
- Contribute to the overall build and evolution of the PSP vision, strategy and plan.
You will need to have:
- Post secondary education in sciences or related field.
- Minimum 5 years in biopharmaceutical industry with knowledge of medical, commercial and marketing or pharmaceutical patient programs role.
- Excellent collaboration and interpersonal skills with the ability to lead without authority assigned projects to timely completion.
- Ability to work independantly through complex situations in an ambiguous environment including analyzing information.
- Ability to synthesize insights, articulate and share best practices and lessons learned, to other business functions.
- Ability to apply critical thinking, solution focused mindset into required decision making, problem solving, communication and PSP operations
- Fully conversant with current healthcare ecosystem, including understanding payer landscapes, market trends, policies and have the ability to implement solutions as it applies to the PSP.
- Thorough knowledge of the Canadian healthcare ecosystem, including market changes and payer landscape.
- Strong understanding of compliance landscape, local regulations and legislation.
- Effective time, organizational and project management skills.
- Understanding of Patient Support Programs and specialty medications.
- Motivated self-starter that takes accountability for delivering exceptional results.
- Experience doing analysis and building business plans.
We would prefer for you to have:
- Understanding of patient programs
- Bilingualism an asset
- MBA or MBiotech an asset
- Thorough knowledge of the Canadian healthcare ecosystem, including market changes and payer landscape
