Job description

We are a contemporary 103 bedroom hotel, part of the Accor family of brands and we are now recruiting for a Night Porter.

You will be required to:

  • To be welcoming and approachable to all guests visiting the hotel.
  • To retrieve guests information from the hotel data base and to enter and update information as appropriate for each guest.
  • Look after all equipment & facilities.
  • To be competent at operating standard office equipment as well as computers and all I.T and communication systems.
  • To strictly follow the Mercure, Brand Standard policy and Laws in terms of Data Protection and Personal Identifiable Information and ensure the Nights team is aware and trained in this area.
  • Know and conduct Standard Operating Procedures for the night shift and to be conversant with all areas of Front Office Procedures.
  • To achieve targets that have been set for the department, such as room revenue and upselling and monitor performance. This includes individual’s member’s targets.
  • To ensure a thorough and detailed handover is produced after every night shift for the Front Office team, Duty Manager and Operations Manager.

· To be presentable in appearance in line with company presentation, cleanliness and uniform standards.

· To conduct regular Night walks as instructed by the Nights Manager, General Manager, Operations Manager or Front Office Manager and ensure all check points have been checked. Report all areas of concern to the Nights Manager and include in the handover. Ensure Night Walks are always completed in full and to company standards.

· To ensure strict adherence to the security of guest’s belongings, including the return and logging of all lost property

· To use and store all cleaning materials and chemicals as per Health and Safety guidelines procedures.

· To place particular emphasis and compliance on all working practices and training relating to fire safety.
