The Home is an intensive support residential care home in the village of Wrenthorpe, Wakefield, Yorkshire.
The home provides personalised, intensive care and support for up to 16 adults with a range of long-term mental health conditions, complex needs and behaviours.
The team are highly qualified and receive comprehensive training

Job Description:
- Daily care duties including general assistance & personal care such as nutrition and hygiene.
- Previous experience preferable but not necessarily required.

Responsibilities:
- Assisting residents with personal care and hygiene, including hand washing and other infection control measures. You will assist them with activities such as dressing, including those with mobility issues, disabilities and medical conditions.
- Assisting residents during meal times, keeping residents refreshed and hydrated by providing drinks throughout the day and ensuring that they are offered snacks and nourishment between meals.
- Assisting the nurses and managers as required, liaising with other members of the team to ensure that residents receive an excellent standard of care.
- Updating care plans regularly, taking a collaborative approach that ensures the residents’ needs are communicated effectively.
- Promoting independence and autonomy that allows residents to feel valued for their contribution to society now and in the past, ensuring that choice is offered at all times.
- Adhering to professional standards, following Company policies and procedures and the regulatory requirements provided by the care quality commissioning group.
Required skills:
- Good communication skills, with elderly residents, visitors and other members of staff.
- You will genuinely want to make a real difference to the lives of our residents.
- Experience in a similar role is required
- Flexibility to work shifts.
- You will demonstrate genuine enthusiasm towards the role and the care sector.
- The ability to take initiative and to have a positive, can-do attitude is essential.
