Care Homes - Healthcare Assistants

NHS Lothian are delighted to announce a new and exciting initiative to provide supplementary staff in care homes. With 19 Local Authority Care Homes stretching across the Lothians, we are currently recruiting health care workers to support the core existing staff in delivering the highest quality of care to our residents.

The role and you

You will assist residents in all aspects of their care needs whilst maintaining their comfort and dignity and promoting their independence. No two days will be the same, whether you are assisting with personal care, helping at meal times, getting involved in resident activities or being a friendly face and a listening pair of ears over a cup of tea, your role will enhance the lives of the residents who live in care homes.

To be successful in this role you will have a keen interest in working with the elderly and be dedicated to providing the best care and support for the residents in your care. You will be an effective communicator and work well as part of a multi-disciplinary team. Having previous experience is beneficial but not essential as full training is provided.

You must be able to achieve SSSC (Scottish Social Services Council) registration within 6 months of your initial shift

Benefits of NHS Lothian Staff Bank:

Competitive hourly rate with enhancements

Flexible shift options

Initial training shifts provided

Uniforms provided

Supportive onsite team

Supported development opportunities

*Please note*

If you are leaving a substantive role in a care home to join the Staff Bank or are new to NHS Lothian Staff Bank then restrictions may apply
