Job description
The Role: News Editor for PIB Group
PIB Group (‘PIB’) is a diversified specialist insurance intermediary founded in 2015. It is a dynamic insurance group created to fill a gap in the market for a specialist, independent, client-centric and service-focused intermediary. Our goal at the outset was to create the UK’s leading independent diversified specialist insurance intermediary, and a business that can provide a genuinely credible alternative to the larger and more established intermediaries. That goal has now evolved to include more international aspirations targeting specialist businesses and teams in Europe.
We are seeking an experienced and motivated News Editor to join our Group Communications & Engagement team, which is part of the People function. This role will be responsible for developing a strategy and taking editorial control of PIB’s news agenda and Group channels.
It’s a newly created role and will play a vital part in supporting the delivery of an effective and engaging communication program that supports PIB's culture of collaboration, and a focus on specialisation, and growth.
Responsibilities:
Our purpose in life within the Group Comms & Engagement team is to help employees be part of shaping our culture by creating connections across our expanding group. We’re passionate about creating conversations by turning up the dial-up on the voice of employees so they feel included, valued and recognised. Our employees have a connection to our leaders and have a strong sense of where we are going and why their role and how they are contributing. And importantly, we want to help create a feeling where we inspire people to feel ‘PIB proud’.
We do this by focusing on five main areas: Employee voice, Leadership/exec connections, PR, Integration and Acquisitions, Internal and external branding.
If you’re a passionate storyteller, then your journalistic skills and qualities to develop sparkling copy and compelling content will be well suited this exciting new position! As an expert in multi-media, your remit will span our Group-wide internal and external channels, so you’ll be charged with taking these channels to new heights… as well as enjoy the creative space to explore new ones to engage our audiences in different ways.
As PIB’s audience is becoming increasingly international and PIB expands across Europe, an emerging opportunity is identifying new ways to engage and embrace colleagues no matter where they are in the PIB family. So you’ll have a brilliant grasp of writing clear and straightforward communications (whatever the medium) to ensure we’re considerate and inclusive of audiences where English may not be their first language.
