Newly Qualified Social Worker - South Essex (Basildon and surrounding areas)

Permanent, Full Time

£29,236 per annum - pay award pending

Location: Basildon

Working Style: Community-based worker

We fully understand the importance of having Newly Qualified Social Workers as part of our established workforce to ensure that there is a succession of passionate individuals working with our children, young people and their families.

We also understand that for you to be able to do your job you need to be supported and given the space and time to learn how to do this well through practical experience, learning and development opportunities, good supervision and opportunities to reflect.

About You

You will be studying for a degree or Master’s in Social Care, qualifying this summer 2023 and be looking to start a career within Children and Families social care . You’ll bring a positive attitude and willingness to learn and a passion to help others.

The role will require you to be mobile throughout a wider operational area including travelling around the county of Essex and beyond, potentially transporting service users and their belongings in an emergency. As such a driving licence and car or the ability to meet the mobility requirements of the role through other means is essential.

For these NQSW posts we are currently unable to consider applications from individuals who do not currently reside in the UK and will require relocation and sponsorship

For the first 12 months you will be joining one of our frontline teams within the South Essex quadrant which covers Basildon and surrounding areas, alongside other NQSW’s, all completing the ASYE programme. You will also benefit from solution focused training and support throughout your ASYE year while enjoying lots of peer support and a real sense of belonging as you start your journey with us.

Following completion of your ASYE you will have the opportunity to then continue your career with Essex County Council within the Children and Families service https://www.workingforessex.com/role/children-families/ .

We’ll support you to be to your best, with the resources, training, and development to empower you. You can kick start your career with a range of opportunities offered by our award-winning Essex Social Care Academy. We also offer a university programme to work towards a master’s in advanced social work.
