The Department for Education (DfE) ASYE Programme is a one year, employer led induction programme which provides support and assessment to NQSWs working with children and families during their first year of employment.

As part of our commitment to outstanding practice, we have put in place a comprehensive core curriculum and career and qualification pathway for our social workers to develop their knowledge and skills to deliver the most effective social work intervention with children and families.

You must have qualified with a Social Work Degree within the last two years and Social Work England registration is essential. As part of the ASYE you will receive:

• A tailored year long induction in a frontline team
• The support of a Practice Educator and a learning buddy
• A learning plan that will be regularly reviewed throughout the year
• An outstanding core curriculum to support your ongoing development with a high quality programme of evidence-based learning and development to enhance skills and practice.

• Bespoke practice workshops with NQSW colleagues across the service
• Monthly ASYE meetings
• A protected and gradually increasing caseload
• Regular reflective supervision - weekly initially

Please note that the nature of this role requires travel to rural locations which are not serviced by public transport therefore a full, clean driving license is essential.

We run 3 recruitment drives a year for ASYE Social Workers usually around Jan-March, June-Aug and Sept-Nov. It is recommended that applicants apply for the round of recruitment which is immediately prior to their expected qualification date.
