It's an exciting time at Wiltshire Council and we have restructured and re-focussed all of our services to better meet the aspirations of people living our community.
How do we support you?
You will work with a dedicated supervisor. That support includes regular tailored supervision as well as informal support and ongoing guidance for practice. You will receive monthly ongoing support, training and development sessions; these preceptorship sessions have been designed by our Principal OT to give you a great start to your Occupational Therapy career. Here’s what our recent newly qualified OTs said about how we supported them:
“These sessions have helped me a great deal and I got a lot out of them. They have made me feel supported and listened to especially as I qualified in a pandemic. Thank you all.”
Why come to Wiltshire?
In addition to our Graduate support programme, we provide a range of learning and development opportunities - not just at the start of your career but across the professional capabilities’ framework. Grounded in relationship-based practice, opportunities are varied and ongoing such as a newly developed innovative fund for developing practice by shadowing in organisations.
In addition, you will receive:
We offer light, spacious and modern working environments allowing flexibility to work at any of our hubs where you will have access to free, priority parking.
A laptop and mobile phone, so you can work flexibly from any location enabling you to be more effective and flexible in your practice.

25 days holiday plus bank holidays, rising to 30 after 5 years’ service, as well as the option to purchase an additional 20days.
Established and supportive teams who will provide reflective supervision and management feedback in a culture of learning and development.
An attractive rewards package with an excellent range of discounted products and services with national and local retailers via our Wiltshire Rewards scheme
A variety of progression opportunities; including practice educator training, coaching opportunities, CMI accredited leadership programs and career paths into management.
