Available Job Today Siemens Mobility is looking for New Product Introduction Project Manager to join our Rail Infrastructure business in Chippenham. The opportunity is for a fixed term contract of 2 years with a potential to be extended for another year.

New Product Introduction Project Manager will play a key role in our Manufacturing Operations. Working alongside the NPI Engineering manager in the implementation and distribution of new products into Manufacturing Operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing New Product Introduction and Trials through the business. The successful applicant will continually seek to improve efficiency through the development of best practice and techniques.


Key Duties:

  • Project manage New Product introduction into the Chippenham manufacturing operations facility, working in partnership will all elements production management, supply chain, quality, and sales.
  • A key attribute will be the ability to drive a multifunctional team of personnel from different areas without having direct line management responsibility.
  • Understanding and interpreting product development briefs in collaboration with the NPI Engineering Manager to formulate successful plans to meet customer demand whilst achieving the financial targets of Chippenham manufacturing.
  • Lead the team to ensure new product build and trials through the production process, coordinating with the Production Supervisor, Supply Chain, Sales Planning and Material control, fully documenting status and progress
  • Being the point of contact for our customers ensuring they are kept up to date with progress, financial position.
  • Manage and Co-ordinate the critical path to achieve commitment from stakeholders in respect of achieving projects successfully

Essential Requirements:

  • Must have a degree or higher in a relevant commercial or technical discipline
  • 5+ Years in a manufacturing/operational environment
  • Experience in multi-discipline project management
  • A proven track record of NPI project management
  • Commercial awareness with a sense of organisational sensitivity
  • Ability to negotiate and influence internal and external stakeholders
  • Strong communication and planning skills with the ability to prioritise workloads
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
  • Fluent communications skills, both verbal and written, along with excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to identify improvements and cost reductions
  • Highly numerate and PC literate, especially in Microsoft Office

Desirable Requirements:

  • Proven track record of Innovation
  • Understanding of ERP systems
