New Aircraft Build and Delivery Manager

This is a key time to be joining British Airways as we Build a Better BA. We take huge pride in our past – but we’re looking to the future as an airline that loves embracing the best of modern Britain. Our country’s creativity, diversity, style, wit and warmth are the same special qualities that make us who we are. If you’re made of the same qualities as us, you could soon be part of the next chapter of our story. Together as one team, we’re connecting Britain with the world and the world to Britain like no one else.

Great journeys require first-class aircraft. That’s why our world-class engineering function is so important to the British Airways customer experience. In our team, you get to work in wonderful facilities on one of the most diverse fleets around. Get ready to push your engineering skills to ensure our customers fly in the safest, most reliable aircraft in the skies.

In return for keeping our fleet at the forefront of the sector, you’ll receive great rewards and lots of scope to develop your engineering skills and progress your career.

The Role

The New Aircraft Build and Delivery Manager is responsible for technical acceptance and delivery of new aircraft to British Airways, from the Airbus and Boeing production sites in Hamburg, Toulouse, South Carolina and Everett. The role is to ensure that aircraft purchased for British Airways are built in accordance with the purchase agreement, to the agreed specification, quality and in compliance with CAA requirements.

The successful candidate will be expected to define, project manage and administer the inspection programme, build and delivery plan and delivery support team to ensure on-time delivery. To identify and negotiate commercial settlements and warranty extensions as appropriate to maximise financial compensation opportunities. The New Aircraft Build and Delivery Manager is also responsible for providing a clear focus and direction to deliver technical, safety, quality and cost performance targets along with continuous improvement of aircraft delivery activities through engineering processes and procedures.

Note: This role will involve relocating to the US, France or Germany for several months or even years at a time. Candidates must not be restricted from obtaining the right to live and work in any of these countries

At British Airways we all have a part to play in creating an inclusive place to work. Diverse representation among our people is really important to us and we recognise that all our colleagues are uniquely different and bring their own originality, creativity and identity to work.

Inclusion and diversity is a key driver of innovation and we’re committed to creating a culture where everyone feels that they can be themselves. We’re looking for people from all backgrounds and cultures to join us and be a part of our journey to become a Better BA as we continue to connect Britain with the world and the world with Britain.
