Your Opportunity:
The IT/Network Support Specialist is responsible for providing IT and Network support to HFHT (Hamilton Family Health Team) Main office and Hub locations via troubleshooting, updating, and resolving HFHT employee IT Support requests. Installing and configuring software and hardware and updating existing equipment. Participating in assigned IT projects; providing backup support to the facilities department.

- Address, troubleshoot, and resolve incoming tickets from users regarding hardware, software, and network issues in a diplomatic and confidential manner,
- Install, upgrade, and configure hardware and software,
- Provide IT support to all HFHT office\hubs staff and remote staff,
- Repair or replace damaged hardware as needed,
- Maintain HFHT IT property and assets inventory in the HFHT asset management system,
- Set up and deploy IT equipment for new employees,
- Provide IT orientation to new users on hardware, logins, and HFHT-used applications,
- Responsible for the creation of new user accounts, including AD\AAD, Exchange, Teams, SharePoint, etc.,
- Set up and configure VPN and EMR access to external practices for HFHT employees,
- Create and maintain documentation on step-by-step instructions on how to use or fix technical issues for the IT team,
- Assess reoccurring issues to create automated processes where possible,
- Manage system security (logins, policies, network access) via Active directory/Azure Active Directory, MS Endpoint, and O365 Admin Centre,
- Ensure network stability across the HFHT organization,
- Monitor and resolve VOIP, VPN, and telecommunication issues, including PRI, High-speed internet connections, and connectivity between HFHT sites,
- Work directly with vendors, and carriers to resolve issues that impact the HFHT organization and their end-users,
- Be proactive in escalating to the Manager of IT any critical and potential critical IT issues,
- Provide backup support to the Facilities team.
If so, we are looking for a future colleague who has…
- Minimum three-year post-secondary education in IT, or equivalent combinations of education & experience, and IT-based certifications.
- 5+ Years of experience in Computer/Network system support.
- In-depth Knowledge of network infrastructure, architecture, connectivity, and security.
- Knowledge of Windows and Windows Server OS, Azure Active Directory, Office 365 Admin Centre, Exchange, SharePoint, Teams, and Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager/System Centre Configuration Manager.
- Knowledge of Server hardware/Firewalls/Routers/Switches, LANs, WANs, and VPNs.
- Knowledge of Phones system, PBX, and internet-based (Avaya\3CX).
- Knowledge of command line utilities, and PowerShell.
- The ability to travel to multiple sites, and access to a reliable vehicle is an essential part of the position.
- Ability to prioritize multiple issues and understand critical first.
- Ability to troubleshoot and solve problems, sometimes with “out of the box” solutions.
- Detail-oriented logical thinker with the ability to juggle multiple competing priorities.
- Excellent Analytical and problem-solving skills.
