What is the plan for the Senior Network Engineer role?
As an experienced Senior Network Engineer, you will be leading, developing and delivering enterprise grade network infrastructure. You will tackle complex problems and use your own initiative to meet the varying demands of the business.
What will you do as a Senior Network Engineer?
You will implement and run enterprise networking solutions with high reliability and availability. Introduce new networking technologies or improve existing technologies to transform existing capabilities and services. Design, develop and implement orchestration workflows for infrastructure configuration, backup and management. You care about network performance and can compose analytics visualizations using 3rd party and custom applications. Work closely with video streaming traffic to evaluate performance, efficiency, security and functionality. Provide networking domain expertise to other teams. Maintain technical documents for solutions and standard operating procedures to ensure services are delivered in an efficient and effective manner. 3rd line support of the network infrastructure. Industry watching, both direct or through a third party, to ensure the company is aware and educated on new technologies. Participate actively in engineering and architecture solution peer reviews and solution design sessions.
What do you know that makes you a great Senior Network Engineer?
At least 4 years of experience working with networking solutions, preferably in a Service Provider environment;
Certifications: CCNP Routing and Switching desired or equivalent experience;
Willingness and curiosity to get involved in projects related to other technologies and to learn and specialize in other technical areas, not related to network technologies;
Juniper & Cisco routers & switches MPLS, BGP & Internet Exchange Peering Network QoS Multicast routing Network management and advanced IP routing knowledge IPTV technologies VoIP technologies Service Provider transport network types (optical fibre, GPON, broadband) IP Network Design & troubleshooting skills Provisioning and billing solutions Linux exposure
Salary £60k - £80k based on experience with package.
