I'm recruiting for a Senior Network Engineer contractor to help my client with an upcoming datacentre migration and BAU support cover.
This will be to work alongside other Network and IT Infrastructure specialists and contractors I have working for my client's technical team and will involve performing day to day project & operational tasks, including 2nd & 3rd line network support tasks.
Key Skills required:
The role will offer some remote working but due to the nature of the work I will require flexibility for contractors to accommodate occasional out of hours tasks & datacentre visits in the London area. This is an excellent opportunity to join initially on a 4 month contract with potential scope to extend. Key Skills required:
Technical fault finding and network incident management. Supporting IT colleagues with resolving a mixture of 2nd and 3rd line tickets, and acting as a final point for resolving escalations from the Network Operations team.- Providing diagnosis and resolution of network incidents. Ensuring resolutions are fit for purpose and implemented in a safe and controlled manner.
- Maintaining and ensuring high levels of network availability and resilience. Keeping CMDB / documentation up to date and accurate.
- Carrying out work to the appropriate quality standards whilst deploying and maintaining corporate standards.
- Familiarity with networking within Microsoft Azure, including ExpressRoute connectivity.
- Knowledge for establishing and maintaining firewall security policies, root cause analysis and low-level troubleshooting.
- Understanding Networks and Telephony enough to troubleshoot. Using cross platform diagnosis skills using industry tools and techniques.
- Hands-on experience of: Cisco ASA, Cisco Switches and Routers.
- Experience with Palo Alto firewalls in a large corporate environment.
- Working with other technical teams and technology specialists, comfortable with copper and fibre cabling and the related troubleshooting areas.
- Ability to explain complex information to any audience. Can recognise and suggest improvements, and provide input into the team roadmap.
- Flexibility to lead or assist with out-of-hours network changes in evenings/weekends as required.
