Role Purpose
We are looking to recruit a junior network engineer to help to manage our network and IT infrastructure. You will be working under the supervision of our very experienced senior network engineer to maintain and ensure the smooth running of our network. The role will suit someone who is with a who is keen to learn and advance their career. We are a serviced office business and therefore require someone who is focused on proving top quality customer service to our clients.
Responsibilities
- Monitoring network performance to ensure system availability and reliability using PRTG
- Analyse network for security vulnerabilities
- Installation and configuration of Cisco/Juniper switches, Access points and WatchGuard firewalls
- Planning and installing firmware updates on network equipment
- Installing software patches and updates
- Organising scheduled upgrades
- Manage relationship with vendors and service providers to ensure the service they provided is cost effective and meets the needs of the business.
- Investigating and resolving faults in the network and IT infrastructure
- Ability to produce and maintain network documentation using Visio and Excel
- Ensure the company network and IT infrastructure is kept secure.
- Management of CCTV and Door system.
Requirements
- Experience working with Windows Server, Active Directory, AD Sync, Group Policy
- Experience with Office 365, Exchange Online, Share Point, Teams
- Experience with VMWare ESXi and Citrix Xenserver
- Experience with next generation firewalls, WatchGuard is advantageous
- Solid understanding of networking protocols, such as TCP, UDP, STP, MST, RSTP
- Good understanding of QoS, IPS, Web Proxy, VoIP, VLANs, DHCP, Port Security, NAT, Routing, VPNs, Ether-Channels, Wireless Controllers, SNMP, PoE, FTP
- Experience configuring network devices using CLI
- Experience with Avaya phones systems would be advantageous.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills
- Experience with 1st to 3rd line support to end users
- Ability to work under pressure
- Experience troubleshooting network related problems
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Able to work in a team and unsupervised

Salary: £25,000.00-£30,000.00 per year
