Overview of role
The Network Engineer will support responsibility for the data network in the UK, which will require UK travel to support the business and may offer the opportunity for International Travel to liaise with and support our US parent company.
The successful candidate will need to hit the ground running supporting, managing and troubleshooting complex Networks in a fast paced environment within a high performing team.
You will have a proven track record as a Network Engineer with ideally a minimum of 5 years’ experience in delivering and supporting networks in a large enterprise environment.
Essential Experience required in this role:
- Firewall Technologies (Palo Alto / Zscaler beneficial)
- SDWAN Experience (HP/Silverpeak Beneficial)
- LAN / WAN Technologies (HP/Aruba Beneficial)
- Enterprise Wireless – Survey/Troubleshooting/Design/Configuration/Implementation
- MPLS Knowledge
- CISCO Routers and Switches
- Knowledge of Network Protocols (IPSEC, HSRP, VRRP, QoS, GRE, BGP, OSPF, EIGRP etc…)
- 802.1x / 802.1q and Radius
- VPN and Remote Access Technologies
- VoIP Network engineering
- Network Design and IP addressing
- DNS & DHCP
- VxLan knowledge would be beneficial
- Cloud Network Provisioning - Desirable
- Scripting Knowledge (Powershell, Python) - Desirable
Key responsibilities for the Network Engineer:
- Network Capacity and Performance Monitoring and Management
- Ensure vendor and security best practices are followed
- Streamline and standardise processes using technology, tools with a common sense approach
- Manage and Support technical projects
- Maintain documentation standards
- Provide remote support to Field Engineers and Service Desk
- Troubleshoot complex data and voice network issues
The business is undergoing exciting change following an acquisition with a planned MPLS to SD-WAN Migration, Data Centre Technology Migration, Firewall Migration and Group Wifi Migration in the next 12 months.
