We are seeking a skilled and experienced Network Engineer to join our team. The Network Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining our organisations network infrastructure. The ideal candidate should have knowledge of network protocols, hardware, and software, and have a strong background in network administration and troubleshooting. They should be able to work independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams to ensure the stability, security, and optimal performance of our network.
- Implement and maintain the organisation's local area network (LAN), wide area network (WAN), and other network infrastructure components.
- Monitor network performance and ensure its availability, reliability, and scalability.
- Identify and resolve network issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement appropriate solutions.
- Implement and maintain network security measures, including firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection systems.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement network infrastructure for new projects or system upgrades.
- Conduct regular network assessments and audits to identify areas for improvement and optimise network performance.
- Develop and maintain network documentation, including network diagrams, configurations, and standard operating procedures.
- Stay updated with industry trends and emerging technologies to recommend innovative solutions and improvements for the network infrastructure.
- Provide technical guidance and support to other team members and end-users regarding network-related queries and issues.
- May require out of hours work and travelling to office locations
- Relevant certifications CCNA or higher.
- Proven work experience of 3 years or more, as a Network Engineer or similar role, with a strong background in network administration and troubleshooting.
- Knowledge of networking protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, OSPF, BGP), network architecture, and network security principles.
- Experience with configuring and managing network devices, including routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers.
- Familiarity with network monitoring tools and performance optimisation techniques.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve network-related issues.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment with cross-functional teams.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills to maintain accurate network documentation.
- Ability to adapt to evolving technologies and learn new concepts quickly.
