Fibertek, Inc. is a leading developer of laser and electro-optic systems for the aerospace community, with key contributions to lasers for atmospheric sensing, laser communications, and lidar sensors for NASA, DoD, and commercial customers. We are looking for a highly motivated individual to join our Information Technology Team in Herndon, VA. As part of Fibertek's IT Team, you will be responsible for supporting, configuring, maintaining, and upgrading Fibertek’s network and in house servers. As well as installing and integrating new server hardware and applications and keeping an eye out for needed updates.

Duties will include:

• Designing system configurations.
• Documenting networks.
• Scheduling installation of network HW/SW components.
• Monitoring and documenting network performance to determine if adjustments need to be made.
• Documenting all IT systems and maintaining inventory, making recommendations for improvements.
• Maintaining master IT schedule to include upgrades/updates and system maintenance activities.
• Providing quarterly updates for IT configuration documentation.
• Developing and documenting IT policies and procedures.
• Providing IT Support Desk as required.
• Conducting independent research projects as assigned by the IT manager.

Experience and expertise required:

• 3-5 years relevant experience.
• BS in Computer Science or Network Security preferred or equivalent technical background.
• Knowledge of Microsoft products and services.
• Strong oral and written communication skills, and organizational skills.
• Familiarity with Cybersecurity and CMMC.
• Dependable and flexible.
• Able to work in a small business environment.
