The Network Engineer position provides technical and management expertise to support multiple areas of the technical operating environment. This position plays a critical role in scaling the group’s network and systems infrastructure to meet the growing needs of Acumen’s projects and clients, and to help ensure that the system’s operating platform, network, and related procedures adhere to the department’s best practices and align with the company’s business goals.
Responsibilities:
The primary focus of the Network Engineer position is to provide technical operational support and knowledge regarding networks and related systems.

Supporting and enhancing existing data center infrastructure and automation frameworks

Supporting centralized access security and authorization for web apps and APIs, on-premises and in the cloud

Supporting virtualization and cloud network operations

Installing, configuring and maintaining network devices. This includes owning the deployment process (i.e., staging environment to production environment)

Troubleshooting, resolving and communicating networking issues

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience/certifications)

5 years’ experience in network administration

5 years’ operating system experience (Windows or Linux server)

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

Skilled in demonstrating critical thinking and problem-solving

Strong knowledge of IP technologies (OSPF, ISIS, BGP, MPLS, L2 Switching)

Production environment expertise in routers and switches from one or more vendors (Cisco, Juniper, IBM etc)

Security-minded familiarity with PII or PCI data and the compliance requirements these put on data centers

Skilled in enterprise computer management, networks, and monitoring

Experienced in prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment

Experience or certifications in Cisco (CCNA) or Juniper (JNCP) is a plus

Advanced at enterprise web application SSO technologies (e.g. Ping Identity, Microsoft ADFS, WAP)

Advanced at network automation frameworks (Python, Netmiko, or other)

Advanced at Linux, Kubernetes, Nginx, HAproxy, and other open source technologies
Location:
This is an on-site position in our Burlingame, CA office. The salary range for this position is $75,500- $130,000; consideration for higher compensation may be made for candidates with advanced qualifications.
