What you’ll do
Working within the Engineering Delivery Unit the IP Design Authority will focus on delivering a first class broadband network and service to our customers.
With the Fixed Access engineering team, look after the country specific tests, the high level design, the low level design and the delivery of the fixed network infrastructure supporting the business strategy.
Monitor network capacity making sure that all needed actions/orders are made to avoid customer-affecting congestion.
This country specific Engineering Delivery Unit is part of a broader team which design and deliver the Fixed Access Network across all Vodafone markets, with a variety of architectures and technologies.
What will you be doing?
- Perform Network engineering activities related to the design of the Fixed Access networks. Test and Accept new SW releases / HW platforms on the fixed network in scope, including BNG, CGNAT platform.
- Perform capacity planning and dimensioning for IP networks & Access working closely with the Fixed Service Design team, work closely with other Telco Operators/Providers to ensure NNI deployment.
- Work on the alignment of the Fixed networks’ plans for the Europe Region with Technology Strategy recommendations and guidelines.
- Review incoming demands from other business areas and compile Impact Assessments considering, time, resource and budget expenditure. Liaise across internal technical and non technical teams at all stages of the project to ensure delivery to time, cost, quality.
- Receive, handle and update stakeholders on any BAU/fault rectification activities related to BNG architecture.
Who are we looking for?
- 5 years work experience in an telecommunications operator /organization supporting large heterogeneous Access & IP infrastructures. (Specifically experience working with IP, MPLS, BGP, RSVP-TE, ISIS, L2 pseudowires, EVPN)
- Solid knowledge of IP technology (PPP, DHCP, BNG, L2TP, LNS, IPv4/v6 dual-stack, CGNAT) and of Fixed networks requirements and characteristics. Able to challenge given solutions and identify innovation opportunities.
- Knowledge and experience working with different vendor equipment: Juniper MX480, Nokia 7750, Cisco IOS-XR/XE
- Produce detailed design documents and configuration templates and support network configuration teams to deploy configuration on the live network
- SW development background aimed to automate provisioning, performance monitoring & reporting and introduction of Software Defined Network technologies.
