The Network Administrator will be responsible for the installation, configuration and monitoring of all physical and virtual network equipment and infrastructure services. The Network Administrator will also be continuously assessing the functionality of the network infrastructure and ensuring software is updated regularly and will assist in developing and implementing network standards and policies. The Network Administrator will sustain the necessary data throughput rates by monitoring networking activity and maintaining existing equipment. Respond to network connectivity issues and resolve any wireless communication issues. Collaborate with third-party support and service vendors to ensure that the network stays operational
Compensation: The salary range for this role is $70,000 - $85,000. Pay will be determined based on experience level.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Maintain networks equipment including routers, routing tables, switches, firewalls, and other physical and virtual network hardware
- Maintain network services including AD (Active Directory), DNS (Domain Name System), DHCP, VPNs (Virtual Private Network), and VDI (Virtual Desktop Infrastructure).
- Installing and configuring network equipment to update or fix hardware or software issues
- Monitoring systems to improve network performance for optimal application delivery
- Communicating networking issues to other employees and management
- Fixing software and hardware configuration issues for users on-demand or from inspection of the systems
- Managing subcontractors involved with network installation
- Configuring firewalls and security applications, maximizes network efficiency and security
- Maximizing network performance through ongoing monitoring and troubleshooting
- Arranging scheduled upgrades
- Updating network equipment to the latest firmware releases
- Reporting network status to key stakeholders
Minimum Qualifications:
- Associates or bachelor’s degree in Network Administration or Computer Science or a related field of study.
- 3 or more years of network infrastructure experience.
- CCNA preferred
- Strong organizational, interpersonal and communication skills required.
- Proven problem solving, analytical, troubleshooting and time-management skills.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedures.
- Exhibit excellent written and verbal communication skills; has ability to convey a clear and concise thought.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
- Experience with Cisco Meraki, Cisco Firepower NGFW preferred.
