Job Description
Due to exceptional growth in demand for our services we are currently recruiting for enthusiastic individuals with a track record of delivering sustainability projects and programmes join our Climate Change, Sustainability and Resilience (CCSR) practice.
Our CCSR practice has a well-deserved reputation with infrastructure owners and operators, FTSE100 and Fortune500 clients, governments, financial institutions, for Net Zero Resilient and ESG technical advisory services. We produce carbon assessments and management plans, robust climate assessments, carbon footprints and reduction plans as well as supporting climate change risk assessment and resilience and adaptation planning. We also help clients with peer benchmarking, risk assessment, strategy development, and reporting to support their ESG programmes. Our work provides clients with greater confidence in decision making, business planning and operation of major projects, individual assets, multinational portfolios, and cities. The practice works across a wide range of sectors including highways, rail, aviation, power, water utilities and urban regeneration, industrials, manufacturing, FMCG, chems/pharmas, and financial services.
It is an exciting time for AECOM. We launched our global Sustainable Legacies strategy last year and have seen a significant increase in demand in this area from our clients and the wider business; and the interest is only growing. Role
We are seeing particular growth in our work cross the infrastructure sector including enabling the developing of new energy infrastructure critical for a net zero resilient future. The successful candidate(s) will work collaboratively to deliver a range of climate change, ESG and sustainability programmes and projects for infrastructure projects and owners predominantly across the UK and Ireland as well as supporting senior leaders in the practice and wider Environment & Sustainability Business Unit to grow the practice. We work from a range of our UK offices and are proud to have our Freedom to Grow programme which supports flexible working.
Depending on your experience and aspirations a typical week could involve:
+ Conducting and delivering technical work across a range of ESG related projects for major infrastructure owners and operators.
+ Managing tasks and projects covering technical, quality and financial management;
+ Supporting and mentoring team members to build their capacity and expertise;
+ Liaising and collaborating with colleagues, clients and their advisors to deliver work on time, budget and achieving technical excellence;
+ Multitasking: working across several projects and proposals at one time;
+ Preparing costed proposals and other business development materials (e.g. for webinars, flyers, case studies, etc.);
+ Building positive long-term client relationships;
+ Building internal networks to promote CCSR services within AECOM; and
+ Supporting the CCSR practice leadership to identify and secure new internal and external opportunities.
You will be supported by your line manager with regular mentoring and in continuing your professional development with training and support for chartership.
Qualifications
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
We are looking for enthusiastic candidates with the following:
+ Demonstrated delivery of sustainability outcomes in the infrastructure sector;
+ Holistic understanding of sustainability and Net Zero, with a particular interest in decarbonisation (Scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions), climate risk assessment and management;
+ A demonstrated understanding of sustainability/ESG and climate accounting, management and disclosure standards and guidance for example PAS 2080, WRI, ISO14064, PAS2050, TCFD, SASB, GRI etc;
+ A desire to deliver technical excellence;
+ Project and financial management experience.
+ Commercial awareness for business development, marketing, and proposal preparation.
+ Team player with experience of managing teams and mentoring staff.
+ Great communication skills in English, fluency in other languages an advantage.
+ Solid numeracy skills, confidence in working with large data sets and advanced Excel skills; and
+ Problem solving abilities. Self-starter, who can design and deliver work under own initiative.
Experience with two or more of the following is also required:
+ Familiarity with climate protections including using them to build the case with colleagues, clients and their advisors for resilient and adaptive design and planning.
+ Urban / infrastructure climate risk assessment, climate adaption, nature-based solution and/or green financing.
+ Demonstrated experience in advising on and integrating low carbon and resilient solutions into infrastructure design and business planning.
+ Demonstrated experience in sustainable resource management, materials efficiency and circular economy.
+ Strong understanding and practical application of the requirements for climate assessment in EIA and ESIA; and
