24/7 shift pattern - 12hours days and nights
Job location: Llay, Wrexham, LL12 0PB.

Essential Responsibilities
The job holder is responsible to the NDT Level 2 for technical / NDT inspection matters only.
The job holder is not responsible for subordinates but will assist in the training and development of PFD operators as required.
The job requires that the job holder to work on own initiative with respect to work issued on the work to list and requires little supervision unless instructed perform prioritised work from Line Manager.
The job is responsible for the NDT testing of aircraft parts to customer specifications. This involves the interpretation and operation of test methods & calibration of equipment in order to achieve accurate results to certify the parts. Failure do so may result in defected parts entering service which may cause disruption and lead to cost to the business, and aircraft failure.
The job has responsibility for cross checking that all of the prior operations have been completed (signoff/stamped) prior to any NDT testing. If this is not the case, the job holder is responsible for escalating the issue to the Line Manager.
The job holder is responsible for identifying any failures with parts, completion of NCR forms and escalating to the Line Manager for rectification work. Failure do so may result in defected parts entering service which may cause disruption and lead to cost to the business, and aircraft failure.
The job requires a high degree of concentration in order to interpret test results and to evaluate discontinuities correctly.
Position Requirements
Academic:
The job requires a basic level of education and will likely have a minimum of two years experience gained on the job training on NDT equipment within the aerospace industry.
Professional Accreditations:
The job requires the job holder to be qualified to NAS 410 Level 2 in penetrant testing and / or magnetic testing in aerospace sector .
Experience:
The job requires that the job holder has sufficient knowledge of the scope and limitations of the test methods being undertaken.
The job holder should have the ability to apply detailed techniques to products within the limits of their qualifications.
The job requires IT skills to access specifications form a dedicated computer system

Abilities:
The job requires the job holder to undertake a high degree of concentration and judgement in determining and interpreting result to specification.

The job requires limited manual handling of heavy parts without the use of mechanical aids.
Personal Attributes:
The job requires the job holder to communicate both verbally and written in a clear and precise manner. Communications are required with Line Manager and other departmental staff. There is infrequent communications with customers who request information as to why parts have been rejected.
The jobholder is required to work either days or nights on a regular basis but may be required to work shifts.
The job requires the wearing of Standard PPE whilst on site at all times.
The job does not require out of hours working, or working away from home.
