National Transport Manager
Location: UK Based /Midlands /Flexible
Working Schedule: Monday – Friday 37.5 hours
Salary: from £45,000k + Bonus

The Role
To manage the transport and fleet function, in line with legal requirements and company standards of performance . Provide insight, support and specialist knowledge to Regional and local Management with regards to the safe and efficient optimisation of the transport fleet across Bunzl Safety.
Key Responsibilities
· Work closely with the Business Director / FD to understand and improve fleet performance.
· Manage & develop a national distribution operation with cross dock and urban fleet profile, utilising outsourced solutions where financially/environmentally appropriate in order to satisfy customer demand.
· Manage company assets in line with that profile and the requirements of the business continuity plan
· Manage the fleet profile to include numbers and types of vehicles, mileage and running costs in line with business requirements
· Ensure all vehicles and drivers conform to relevant health and safety and Road Traffic legislation.
· Ensure that all Transport Co-ordinators and drivers are appropriately trained and qualified.
Skills required
Fleet contract and vehicle maintenance and management.
Qualified national CPC holder.
Demonstrates experience of managing a large fleet and driver workforce, with both national and urban distribution profiles.
Able to negotiate sensible, commercial solutions.
