THE POSITION
We are currently recruiting for a National Operations Manager to join our secondary care ILD sales team. As a National Operations Manager, you will be responsible for leading, managing, and coaching your national ILD sales team. In this role, you will also be contributing to the strategic direction of the brand and therapeutic area and play a key role in the development and implementation of the Integrated Customer Plan.
This role is field based national role therefore you will be required to undertake regular travel throughout the UK.
TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Contributing to the overall UK and Ireland ILD brand strategy and tactical plan as part of the Integrated Customer Plan process
- Accountability for the sales team achieving performance objectives through effective and appropriate leadership and coaching
- Coordinating business and account planning across 5 healthcare environments (England, Wales, Scotland, Northern Ireland and Republic of Ireland) with input and liaison from cross functional teams
- Setting territory targets and incentive plans in conjunction with the Insights team.
- Proactively seeking to understand competitor activities, strategies and programmes and ensure competitive intelligence is shared broadly within the organisation.
- Identifying best practices and shares these with aligned sales teams and appropriate head office functions. Proactively communicates best practice for integrated sales teams.
- To define and orchestrate sales performance reporting.
- Identifying training needs and co-create the annual training plan for the sales team in collaboration with Business Excellence, Marketing and Medical.
- Ensuring that all direct reports are conversant and compliant with the ABPI Code and all relevant BI internal standard operating procedures. Is responsible to maintain a high tone within their team of the importance of compliance at BI.
REQUIREMENTS
- Educated to degree level or equivalent experience
- Ability and willing to travel nationally to all sales team territories and head office frequently (UK and Ireland)
- Significant people management, leadership and coaching experience within a secondary care sales environment
- Proven ability to lead and develop others
- Previous knowledge and experience working within Specialist Respiratory Medicine (ILD) preferred
- Demonstrated track record in key account management
- Marketing experience desirable
- Understanding and implementation of business strategy & performance drivers
- Positive mindset, solution driven, team player that effectively interacts with cross-functional stakeholders at multiple levels
- Strong communication, influencing and presentation skills
- Excellent understanding of the ABPI (UK) / MRII (Ireland) code of practice and qualified
