Job description
Whether you’re ordering the latest trainers online from ASOS or adidas or buying a Nestlé easter egg, colleagues at GXO would have been a part of making this happen! Pretty cool, right? Being at the forefront of the logistics industry and working with hundreds of well-known customers such as ASOS, EE, Virgin Media, Nestlé and Heineken, GXO colleagues working within our warehouses across the UK will have played a part in ensuring your trainers were delivered to your door and your easter eggs are in the supermarkets ready for Easter.
GXO is the largest pure play logistics company in the world. We focus on one method of logistics but tailor this to deliver results for our customers and to help us in our growth journey, we’re looking for graduates to join us from September. We don’t just want you to come along for the ride, we want you to be in the driving seat to take control of your career and drive it to the next level and beyond.
What you’ll do on a typical day:
On board our graduate programme, you’ll experience 3 placements of 8 months in length. You could be working at one of our sites managing a team of colleagues within the warehouse or working with one of our transport teams to analyse data to make cost savings and change routes or deliveries. You could even be working with our charity partner Transaid with a placement in Tanzania or Uganda if this suits you. That’s why we need you to be flexible to move round the UK through the duration of your programme – and of course our graduate team will be there to help and support you every step of the way. We’ll ensure you have a well-rounded view of our business which will enable you to transition into a full-time, permanent operational role at one of our sites following the scheme.
On your two-year journey, you’ll be given the opportunity for continuous development with a bespoke learning plan which includes nationally recognised leadership and health and safety qualifications. You’ll become part of our Graduate Academy where you’ll soon connect with our other graduates. You’ll be invited to development days where you can network and have fun with colleagues and other graduates. We work hard but we recognise that to be successful, we need to work well as a team so there’s lots of opportunities to socialise and build solid relationships.
Pay, benefits and more:
We’re offering a starting salary of £28,000 per annum, which will increase each year. In addition, we offer 25 days holiday pay (plus bank holidays), as well as the option to buy additional days. You’ll have access to a variety of high street discounts, as well as a cycle to work scheme, a workplace pension, and many other perks.
To succeed on our graduate programme, you’ll need a 2:1 degree of any discipline and bags of energy and enthusiasm and we’ll ensure you have all of the training and development you’ll need to be successful in your placements and future career with us.
If you’re looking for a career (and not just a job) that will challenge but also reward you, the GXO Graduate Academy is the place to start!
