The Recipe
This role will cover some of our existing key National Accounts where you will support current relationships and also help them grow. There will also be elements of new business involved giving you the chance to build new relationships using the Warburtons brand and take full ownership of your day to day diary. You'll use compelling consumer, category and customer insights to develop and implement the Customer and Joint Business Plans, ensuring all agreed targets are achieved.
The Role
- To develop and deliver customer plans which will achieve or exceed the targets set, and incorporate: activation; brand plan; range and NPD; promotion; Business Development; and merchandising tactics.
- Build effective customer relationships with key contacts in Trade, Marketing, Store and Supply functions, ensuring achievement of Joint Business Plan, awareness of Customer Policy and key commercial decisions.
- Prepare and successfully manage trade negotiations, utilising data insight to influence the retailer on range, promotions, NPD and commercials.
- Monitor and report on customer sales performance, finding opportunities and recommending corrective actions to achieve and exceed budgeted numbers.
- Have input in to the forecasting process, on a monthly basis, ensuring improvement to and achievement of forecast accuracy targets.
- Deliver the Category Plan within the customer, utilising the Category teams expertise to ensure effective implementation at point of purchase.
Essential Ingredients
- Sales execution and Commercial experience, ideally gained within a Grocery, FMCG, sales environment.
- Experience at national account level. Familiarity with P&L proven track record of budget delivery.
- Excellent commercial skills: good negotiator, analytical, able to develop and communicate compelling commercial arguments, experience of working with category teams and developing joint business plans with retailer.
- Financial acumen.
- Excellent communication skills: influential; persuasive.
- Excellent relationship builder- establishing credibility with both internal and external contacts at all levels.
- Systems- knowledgeable on complex spread sheets and able to prepare impactful and influential PowerPoint presentations; understanding of supply chain forecasting tools, for example SAP.
