National Account Manager Bristol, England

The Jolly Hog Group Ltd
Full Time Bristol, England 45000 - 50000 GBP ANNUAL Today
Job description

We’re on the hunt for a National Account Manager to join us at our HQ in Bristol. This is a rare opportunity to join a small, independent and family run company and to grow with it as we develop the business.

We are seeing some heavy and exciting growth at the moment and this is a great opportunity for someone looking to join a forward thinking and emerging brand!

What are we looking for?

We’re looking for a proven National Account Manager to join our Retail Team. The successful NAM will be customer facing to some of the biggest retailers in the country.

To be successful in this role, your background will be in the world of FMCG. Ideally, you will have worked within the food industry. However, if you don’t have food experience but think you have the necessary skills/experience to excel in this role; please still apply! You will just need to outline (in your cover letter) the relevant experience/project work/campaigns you have worked on. You will be coming in to work with a great management team who are very open to doing things differently.

You’ll be naturally passionate about food, recipes and cooking. Food and quality are at the heart of everything we do at The Jolly Hog.

Who are we?

Once upon a time, there were three brothers...

A rugby player, a ship-broker and a cabinet-maker.

After a heated debate about the perfect pork sausages, the brothers decided to settle the argument by creating their own porky delights.

Fast forward to 2023, we now have a range of pork products in Tesco, Sainsburys, Asda, Waitrose, Ocado, Coop and Gousto, along with a restaurant called Pigsty on Bristol’s Wapping Wharf. We also run mobile catering at events up and down the country including Winter Wonderland, Goodwood, and Glastonbury, just to name a few.

Responsibilities

  • Manage our retail accounts, delivering the very highest level of service to our customers
  • Develop and maintain quality and effective relationships with all those that you work with
  • You will be involved in commercial decision making
  • Create, develop and nurture customer account management plans
  • Creating promotional plans for individual accounts
  • Identify and developing new business opportunities within the category and in line with customer needs
  • Delivering insight and feedback to the business, identifying where we can make changes to improve
  • Regularly reviewing our performance within different retailers
  • Develop and maintain in depth knowledge of trends and activity within the industry

What are we looking for?

  • A true love and passion for food and the industry is a must!
  • You will be a people person, who can confidently talk about the brand to various stakeholders
  • Someone well versed with a fast paced, ever changing market
  • Commercially astute – great with numbers and reporting
  • FMCG/retail experience
  • Preferably experience in food
  • Highly organised and exceptional admin skills
  • Strong project management skills

Important things to note!

  • We are not about being second best. We want someone with that same passion for and commitment to excellence.
  • We are a small, family run business. We don’t do politics!
  • This is a rare opportunity to join a rapidly expanding business, with big plans for the future. The person in this role will be fundamental to our growth plans.
  • You must be a self-starter. You will have the support of a fantastic HQ team, but as we are such a small team you will need to be comfortable working independently from the get-go.

We have fantastic socials, quarterly management days, regular ‘away days’ to events, we make/eat lots of delicious food (which can get competitive amongst the HQ Team), and we generally have an ethos of getting our job done whilst having a jolly good time doing it.
