Responsible to:
Senior National Sales Manager
Location / Area:
National (with regular travel to Telford, Shropshire)
Basic Salary:
Competitive salary + car allowance + 50 % bonus earning potential

We are looking for an experienced National Account Manager to join our Team. You will be responsible for developing and maintaining strong relationships with key builders merchant accounts. You will also support the National Sales Manager and the Field Sales Team to increase sales and profitability.
As a NAM, you should be organised and able to analyse performance metrics. We also expect you to have good negotiation skills and the ability to promote relationships with customers.
Ultimately, you should be able to effectively communicate with customers and build long term relationships to ensure long term success.
Principle Responsibilities:
Communicating with new and existing customers, developing and maintaining strong relationships
Supporting the National Sales Manager and Field Sales Team
Identifying commercial opportunities
Working with Product Managers
Direct P&L responsibility for account portfolio
Understanding customer KPIs and targets, and reviewing performance
Organising and leading regular customer meetings, ensuring samples, costs, designs, presentations and proposals are prepared in readiness
Completing market reviews using SWOT analysis and highlighting and how opportunities will be achieved
Creating customer specific sales plans / strategies in line with accountable budgets, costing, packaging and pricing
Liaising with the Product and Technical Teams
Ideal Candidate:
Proven account management and business development experience within the builders merchants or electrical sector - ESSENTIAL
Proven experience of working with trade customers - ESSENTIAL
Proven experience of presenting and selling to buyers
Excellent communication skills
Ability to multitask
