National Account Manager

Fresh Direct, Nationwide – Home/Field Based

Competitive basic salary (DOE) + plus uncapped bonus + company car & home-based contract


We have a new and exciting opportunity to join the Fresh Direct team as National Account Manager your overall challenge will be to drive growth within all Sysco Speciality brands.

The key accountabilities and responsibilities of this role:

  • Accountable for an individual portfolio performance, ensuring that company profitability, customer requirements and individual growth targets are met.
  • Monitor, report & forecast on account performance against sales budget and cash margin in order to maximise future performance.
  • Monitor contractual KBAs as part of all customer reviews.
  • Offset risk of open market tenders through negotiating and agreeing contractual terms 6-9 months prior to current contract expiry
  • Maintain weekly financial reviews with the finance business partner to identify anomalies / opportunities and put together remedial plans where required
  • Develop, implement and maintain joint business plans with all customers
  • Annually review customer account plans as part of the budgeting process for the following year.
  • Work with other departments as required to ensure that budgeted sales targets, account profitability, customer satisfaction and retention are achieved across portfolio
  • Identify, understand and communicate both the customer needs and development aspiration. Work with the required Sysco speciality group function to meet those needs and aspirations. To include all new menu creation, planning and implementation including positive commercials. The above should also cover new listings, codes, lead times and the timely management of delists
  • Via both formal and informal meetings ensure that your Line Manager and all other relevant management team members are kept updated on any opportunities or threats that could impact the business
  • Fully utilise the NPD function of the business to ensure that all opportunities within current customer base are maximised to drive account value and profitability.
  • Adhere to all Sysco speciality group policies and regulations
