Job description
We’re looking for an experienced and motivated Music Teacher to join the Curriculum team within the Milton Keynes Music Hub.
The Music Hub works with schools and key partners to ensure that the National Music Plan is implemented fully within the city and that all pupils of statutory school age, irrespective of their circumstances, receive a high-quality music education.
The Hub also provides a wide range of progressive and sustainable musical activities to help young people develop their musical potential, building on their existing strengths and responding to areas of need.
This is a one-year fixed term role working two days per week, starting in September.
Ideally, you’ll be a teacher with experience of teaching curriculum music in KS1 and KS2 who can offer an instrument specialism to teach whole class ensemble sessions. No individual or small group instrumental teaching is included in this role.
Role Responsibilities- Deliver whole class ensemble teaching and music curriculum teaching from year 1 to year 6 in schools in Milton Keynes.
- Supporting other Music Hub activities including music centre concerts and the occasional event for schools.
- Candidates should be able to deliver creative and inspiring music lessons where pupils clearly make progress within each session.
- Excellent classroom management and communication skills, you’ll be organised and friendly.
- Take the initiative when required but also able to work as part of a team.
- Qualified and unqualified teachers are welcome to apply as long as they have relevant experience of whole class teaching.
