Multimedia Designer - 6 months contract

At Babington we pride ourselves on delivering robust training programmes nationally and are looking for a Multimedia Designer who can join the Transformation project as part of the Learning Experience and Design (LEAD) team and create vibrant new digital resources for our learners. We are looking for individuals who have previous Media Content Design experience, a creative flare with a flexible approach.
Summary of role
To design, create and develop a range of media-based learning content to support the development of a portfolio of blended solutions and programmes across Babington’s different service lines (Commercial and Government funded).
Brief summary of principle accountabilities
- Working as part of the Design and Build team to create learning content, following sound learning design principles for apprenticeship, employability and commercial audiences.
- Be proficient in using the Adobe suite to create a variety of digital learning resources.
- Attend and contribute within scoping discussions to understand the requirement of the solution design that has been agreed and the requirements for the build.
- Communicate effectively with other members of the project team including curriculum experts, SMEs, and other stakeholders to ensure project requirements are met and the “intention” of the learning resource is interpreted correctly prior to build.
- Work with team members on collaborative scoping briefs and create the specific design elements of the blended programme.
- Manage and maintain learning resources and working files, ensuring these files are backed up and archived appropriately.
- Escalate and own any issues that have the potential to impact on the development schedule and the wider build plan in a timely manner to the Learning Technology and Design Manager.
- Collaborate with Curriculum Specialists (content writers) in the design of storyboards and design concepts to ensure initial designs can be delivered to timescale, expectations and to required standard.

Qualifications
- GCSE Grade A-C or above in English and Maths (E)
- A degree in design or equivalent work experience (E)
- Level 4 Diploma in Software Development (D)
Skills and experience
- Experience of creating media rich content for online and/or print media (E)
- Demonstrable experience of using programmes such as Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, After Effects, Premiere Pro or other Adobe CC applications (E)
- Experience using Articulate 360 to create learning resources (E)
- Experience or knowledge of learning design principles and accessibility in education (D)
- Experience of creating 2D and/or 3D animation (D)
- Experience of filming and editing video and audio content to create finished video productions (D)
- Experience of creating JavaScript elements and developing additional interactively in web content (D)
- Experience of working within a team and developing meaningful relationships with internal and external stakeholders (E)
- Ability to manage workload, time and resources effectively (E)
- Ability to deliver to agreed targets (E)
- Ability to remain calm and polite under pressure, managing themselves appropriately (E)
- IT literate and proficient in Microsoft Office particularly the PowerPoint, Word, Excel and Outlook (E)
- Hold a clean driving license with access to a vehicle (D)
