Job description
- Reporting to the CI & Engineering Manager the Maintenance & Continuous Improvement (MCI) Engineer is responsible for assisting in the effective management of the Company’s continuous improvement, engineering and maintenance systems.
- The jobholder will ensure that continuous improvement, engineering and maintenance activities are carried out according to the relevant Business Management System Procedures; and that these activities meet agreed targets and budgets.
- To assist with the organisation and completion of all internal and external maintenance activities; and assist with the development of the yearly plan for all maintenance and improvement activities
- To carry out preventive maintenance activities, in accordance with the Preventive Maintenance schedule; and to ensure adequate resources for effective planned maintenance are available
- To maximise plant reliability and efficiency, and to achieve continuous improvement, through the implementation of appropriate lean manufacturing techniques - to include the leading of continuous improvement team as required
- To assist with the organisation, management and evaluation of production trials of new materials and processes; and to assist with the introduction and validation of new processes, products and equipment
- To assist with the gathering, recording, and evaluation of statistical process data; and to produce reports on machine efficiency.
- To ensure that contractors comply with Company health, safety and environmental policies and procedures, and with relevant legislative requirements
- To ensure the continued implementation of the departments Business Management System Procedures
- To assist with the identification and management of all process improvement projects to increase supply chain efficiency
