weONLYmot is one of the East Midlands leading MOT providers.
Our company is hiring a Mot Tester to join our team at Worksop Branch. The successful candidate will be responsible for inspecting automobiles and testing the safety features of vehicles. We're seeking an individual who has strong attention to detail and the ability to easily identify safety issues while answering customer questions. This position is perfect for those with previous experience working in the automotive industry, and we are interested in hiring individuals who are capable of quickly building rapport with customers.
Responsibilities:
- Drive a car.
- Test vehicle safety features.
- Communicate with customers and co-workers.
- Deal with difficult customers.
Candidates will hold valid qualifications to test under DVSA regulations and be able to carry out MOT testing on class 4 vehicles, bikes is also desirable but not essential.
If you are a trained mechanic or looking for a career change into the MOT testing industry, please also apply as training may be possible. To be eligible to take the MOT testing course you must.
· Have a current and full UK driving license for the vehicle classes you want to test.
· Be a skilled mechanic with at least 4 years of full-time employment servicing and repairing the types of vehicles you’re going to test.
· Have no unspent convictions for criminal offenses
· Be ‘of good repute’ – the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency will decide this to make sure you’re suitable to be an MOT tester.
You would also require the relevant qualifications to be able to take the MOT testing course, you must already have a VRQ, NVQ, or SVQ in:
· Vehicle Mechanical and Electronic Systems, Maintenance and Repair (light vehicle or heavy vehicle), level 3
· Vehicle Technician, Vehicle Maintenance and Repair (light vehicle or heavy vehicle), Level 3
Other qualifications in vehicle maintenance and repair are also accepted so still forward your CV if becoming an MOT tester is something you are interested in.
Strong customer service skills are a key requirement for this role.
Hours of work include 8 am - 5 pm Monday to Friday and Saturday on a rota basis 8 am – 4 pm. 22 days holiday plus Bank Holidays.
