Montessori Teacher | NVQ Level 2/3
Burgh Wood Montessori | Nursery School – Banstead, Surrey
A well-established Montessori Nursery School in Banstead, Surrey is looking to recruit an enthusiastic and self-motivated Montessori Teacher or NVQ Level 2/3 Practitioner to join a growing team caring for children aged 2 - 5 years.
The nursery school has a strong reputation for delivering a holistic and child-centred approach to learning, and the role offers the chance for the right candidate to develop their nursery management skills to support the Principal.
Salary: c. £18,000 to £22,000 (depending on experience) – permanent position subject to successful probation period.
Hours of Work: 8 hours per day Monday to Friday - two roles on offer, one starting at 7.30am (and finishing mid-afternoon) and one starting 10am (and finishing at 6pm).

In addition to above average salary, pro-rata holiday pay, overtime and mandatory training package is offered, together with regular learning and development opportunities.
Qualifications:
- Completion of a recognised Level 2/3 Childcare qualification or Montessori Early Childhood teaching Diploma (or studying for the Montessori Early Childhood teaching Diploma).

Purpose of role:*
- To be responsible for the planning and delivery of an inclusive Montessori curriculum suitable to meet the children’s individual needs.
- To ensure a high standard of physical, emotional and social care and education for the children.
- To give support to the Principal and other team members.
- To effectively deliver the Early Years Foundation Stage and ensure all the children’s individual needs are met and all areas of development are encouraged through play.
- To observe and assess children’s development and keep accurate records of their progress and achievements.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with parents/carers and key interfacing groups.

Key Requirements:*
- Detailed knowledge of the Montessori approach is essential.
- Detailed knowledge and understanding of the EYFS is essential.
- Good knowledge of Ofsted guidelines and Welfare requirements is essential.
- A detailed understanding of Safeguarding and Child Protection is essential.
- Considerable relevant experience of the age range 2 - 5 years is desirable.
- Knowledge of the key person systems and record keeping is desirable.
- Ability to build positive relationships with children and their parents/carers.
- Ability to communicate and work in partnership with families and carers.
- Strong teamwork and collaboration qualities.
- Good written and verbal skills for report writing, maintaining child records and providing feedback to parents/carers and colleagues
