Job description

Make communities safer as a monitoring support officer:

Join us as a monitoring support officer and be part of an inclusive and collaborative team, who will help you learn and develop, and progress your career – all while you work together to make local communities safer. This is a varied, hands-on role where no two days are the same. As a monitoring support officer, you’ll assist and support field monitoring officers as they visit subjects in the community and install, calibrate or decommission monitoring equipment in their homes. Your work will help the Ministry of Justice track individuals in the local area and support them to complete their sentences outside of prison.
This role is perfect for someone with experience of working on their feet and interacting with members of the public – from all walks of life – on a daily basis. An ex-postie, for example, or a former broadband engineer, or someone with experience of being a door-to-door salesperson. You’ll be an excellent, personable communicator; someone who can enter a subject’s home and build a natural rapport with confidence and empathy. In making every subject feel respected, you’ll help them and the community they call home to feel safe and secure.
We’ll provide you with all the training you need to quickly get up to speed. You’ll also be supported by field monitoring officers from your very first day and be a key part of a welcoming and inclusive team. With plenty of opportunities to progress into a more senior role as a field monitoring officer (FMO), or within other areas of Electronic Monitoring Systems as a business, this is a perfect chance to kickstart your development by discovering new skills in a position where you can truly learn something new every day. Become a monitoring support officer and discover a career where you can make a meaningful difference to your local community.

This role is offered on an initial 6 month Fixed Term Contract working 19.5, 26 or 32.5 hours per week.

Working hours: You’ll be working on a rotating shift pattern, for 3 – 5 shifts per work between the hours of 17:30pm – 00:00pm with a compulsory shift extension (paid at an enhanced rate) until 02:00am dependant on business needs.

Location: You will be home-based and spend your shift visiting people in communities across your region. CO/CB/NR
