Mobile Test and Repair Operative (Regional) – Bury St Edmunds

Within this role, you’ll work on all aspects GDU Calibration and Mechanical Repair within our East Anglia region patch of sites. You’ll be providing a quality, cost effective service which meets agreed customer requirements & current safety legislation.

What will the role involve as our Mobile Test and Repair Operative?

  • Completion of portable appliance tests (PAT) Access Equipment and field manager checks. GDU Calibration & lifting equipment inspections of field equipment appropriate to ‘competent persons’ as defined in national lifting regulations & legislation & BT instructions.
  • To meet agreed customer appointments with a view to completing all tests & inspections at one appointment.
  • To maintain relevant documentation relating to example, lifting certificates.
  • Servicing, minor repair & maintenance of mechanical aids.
  • Maintaining contact with the test and repair helpdesks.
  • To ensure that the mobile vehicle is completely equipped with a full inventory to complete the days tasks.
  • To ensure security of the mobile vehicle & contents.
  • To maintain environmental standards to comply with ISO14001.
  • To carry out AMS quality checks at the Line Manager’s discretion.
  • To perform their duties in compliance with all EC, BT regulations & testing and repair handbook.
  • To ensure that standards for performance, safety & security are always maintained.
  • To maintain an efficient inventory of ordering and replenishment of stock.
  • To perform detached duties at remote locations when necessary.

What are we looking for in our Mobile Test and Repair Operative?

  • Experienced PAT Tester required working in all aspects GDU Calibration and Mechanical Repair
  • Must be able to drive long distances as a Mobile Roving Tester within East Anglia, London, and the Southeast of England
  • The lifting of potentially heavy equipment including Ladders and portable equipment
  • A good understanding of Excel Systems and complex spread sheets
  • Experience with lifting equipment inspections & portable appliance tests (PATS), Access Equipment.
  • Experience in calibration and repair of gas detection units.
