Title: Mill Hand (Rolling)

Duration: Permanent
Hours: Monday – Friday, 6:00am – 2:00pm

The Job:
A position has opened up for a Millhand on our 10” hand-rolling mill.
The successful candidate will be required to complete the following tasks:
- Safely load and unload the billet furnaces with material to be rolled.
- Manually move hot material, with the use of tongs, across to the rolling stands.
- Hot roll material as part of a team.
- Stack rolled material correctly within stillages.
- Assist with other processing taking place within the mill (including, but not limited to: weighing, measurement, cold & hot reeling, mill maintenance & set-up).
- Act responsibly and safely at all times.
- Work closely as part of a team.
Candidates with existing millhand experience preferred, but full training will be provided. Above all else, you must work well in a team and have a go-getting attitude.
Candidate Requirements:
- ESSENTIAL – Must be a team player and have the ability to work well with others.
- ESSENTIAL – Must have a safety conscious mindset.
- ESSENTIAL – Must have worked within a steel or heavy industry before.
- Desirable – Certified training or Licences in the operation of Overhead Crane/Forklift Trucks
- First Aider/Fire Warden Training would be a bonus
Salary dependant on Experience
