We are pleased to share this exciting 12 month opportunity for two experienced Midwives to join our Antenatal Clinic teams caring for women and families at Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust. This role will involve working cross site supporting our friendly multi-disciplinary team. You will work in partnership with our clinic midwives and contribute to the delivery of safe, high-quality antenatal care.

We are seeking caring, motivated and enthusiastic midwives with sound communication skills and a compassionate approach to providing woman and family-centred care. The successful candidate will have consolidated midwifery experience in high and low risk settings.

• Providing comprehensive antenatal care to women including initial assessment, routine antenatal checks and supporting specialist Obstetric clinics for women with complex pregnancies.
• Developing and implementing evidence based, individualised care plans for both low risk women, and those with additional complexities, in collaboration with the woman, her family and wider multidisciplinary team.
• Providing advice and support to women and their families on a range of topics relating to pregnancy, birth and early parenthood.
• Liaising with colleagues, medical practitioners, Obstetricians and other healthcare professionals to ensure the best possible care for women and their families.

Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust is a large acute hospital Trust in the county of Kent.

The Trust provides a full range of general hospital services and some areas of specialist complex care to around 500,000 people living in the south part of West Kent and the north part of East Sussex.

The Trust’s core catchment areas are Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells and their surrounding boroughs. We work from two main clinical sites: Maidstone Hospital and Tunbridge Wells Hospital at Pembury. Tunbridge Wells Hospital opened in 2011 and provides single rooms with en-suites for all in-patients – the first of its kind in the country.

We employ over 6,500 full and part-time staff in a huge range of clinical and non-clinical roles across both of our hospital sites.

Once your pre-employment checks have been completed you will be contacted by Recruitment to arrange your start date which will be in line with one of our Corporate Inductions.

Following your Corporate Induction you will be expected to attend the Trust’s 2-week Induction Programme for RNs, NAs, RMs, ODPs and Paramedics. The programme is full-time (please [email protected] this is problematic) and will involve travel to both Trust sites. The programme includes supernumerary shifts in the clinical area, classroom-based sessions and e-learning.
