THE ROLE
Working within Ted’s Brand Marketing team in Ted Baker’s in-house photography studio and reporting to the Photography Manager, the Midweight Photographer is responsible for ensuring the creation of high quality on-model and still life photography for Ted’s ecommerce platform, working closely with the wider eCommerce team. We are looking for a talented and highly creative photographer who can take our imagery to the next level. This role is ideal for a technical, highly organised, creative and self-motivated individual. High standards, brand awareness, understanding of product and a desire to create the best quality images are essential.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
- Shoot high quality ecommerce photography at volume for, both still life and on-model.
- To follow Ted’s In House Shoot guide and consider the brand’s tone of voice when producing imagery.
- To ensure that daily output target, set by the Senior Studio team and weekly productivity requirements are met.
- To research current styles and trends within product photography for development and growth of the Ted Baker brand and website
- Work collaboratively with the styling team and studio producer to cast models appropriate for Ted.
TOOLS OF THE TRADE
- Portfolio that demonstrates expertise and judgment in the applied techniques of on-figure fashion photography and still life product photography (composition, lighting, capture, and processing), as well as pre-production and post-production steps
- Ability to art direct and also take direction, working well alone and in a team
- Degree or equivalent in photography, or relevant creative degree
- Experience in a professional ecommerce studio photography environment is essential.
- Excellent knowledge of common digital capture platforms, various lighting environments, photography equipment and best practices/conventions for set safety
- Self-motivated but able to work within a very close-knit team
- Intermediate experience in using Capture One to a professional standard is essential.
- Experienced Photoshop user with a strong understanding of colour correction.
- Knowledge of Mac OSX and PC computing platforms
- A keen creative eye, high standards, and attention to detail High levels of taste and a desire to improve
- To be able to work well under pressure and have a flexible attitude
- Good organisational and communication skills
