Job Introduction

DAC Beachcroft is looking to appoint a Midweight Designer to join their clients and markets team in Bristol.

The Midweight Designer will work alongside the Senior Designer and Graphic Designer, collaborating with the team, whilst owning their own projects from brief to production. It is a versatile role working on a range of assets from different teams across the firm, such as Marketing, Bids, BD and others. The Midweight Designer will need to be confident in presenting and communicating ideas to the Senior MODEI Manager, Senior Designer, and other stakeholders within the firm. The Midweight Designer will contribute ideas to help drive the creative direction of the brand, as well as working closely with a variety of colleagues in order to create outstanding design assets and collateral. Asset production includes illustrations, branding, digital and print. This role reports into the Senior Designer.

Main Responsibilities
  • Produce strong digital design and creative solutions to address our marketing, bids, business development and brand needs.
  • Design original assets, including interactive documents, illustrations and icons.
  • Ensure high quality brand standards are met, maintaining brand consistency throughout all our design projects whilst working to tight deadlines.
  • Manage a pipeline of their own work using Monday.com software, and be solely responsible for some projects and design work.
  • Refine images, fonts and layouts using graphic design software.
  • Generate ideas to continue to expand and develop the brand and production of assets.
  • Design and produce new templates and assets which can be used across the design team and wider C&M function.
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders to capture requirements and brief, whilst ensuring deadlines are met.
  • Work collaboratively as part of a team, and supporting both the Senior Designer and Graphic Designer.
  • Where necessary, work directly with creative agencies to provide guidance and assets.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments and tools.

  • Operates in a regulated environment, effectively managing risk and compliance issues including data security.
  • Works in partnership with others to manage and mitigate commercial risk.
The Ideal Candidate
  • Proven work experience as a Graphic Designer or similar role.
  • Able to manage a pipeline of work whilst working to deadline.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills.
  • Portfolio of completed design projects.
  • Experience working on design projects from conception to production, including digital design, complex interactive documentation, icons, logos, brochures.
  • Hands-on advanced experience with image editing software, such as Photoshop.
  • Experience in iconography and general illustration development
  • Ability to quality control own work and review own work.
  • Able to work collaboratively, using a range of tools in a hybrid working environment.
  • Creative thinker with the ability to push beyond the expected
  • Proficient in design software (e.g. Adobe Creative Cloud & PowerPoint).
  • Aesthetic skills with the ability to combine various colours, fonts and layouts using design best practice.
  • Attention to visual details and an understanding of information design.
