Job description
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Teacher of Humanities, with experience of working in Key Stage 3, to join a successful and forward-thinking department at our academy.
We are looking for a specialist teacher who is hardworking, passionate about their subject and keen to drive the department forward. This position could be tailored towards either geography or history if appropriate. We want them to provide young people with the best possible education, whatever their background or ability. The opportunity to develop their teaching and learning outside of the classroom is one that the department heavily encourages. Learning outside the classroom would involve extra-curricular activities and external visits to help build a scholarship approach to our pupils learning. If you care about the success of all pupils and have the energy, enthusiasm and experience to make that success a reality, we would welcome your application. We welcome applications from ECTs and have a successful history of mentoring ECTs through their induction period.
We can offer you:
- The chance to work with enthusiastic and ambitious colleagues within the team to develop and build upon the already existing successful Humanities department including Geography, History and Religion and Philosophy.
- A bespoke CPD programme with the opportunity to take part in classroom-based research, professional qualifications and also opportunities to build your professional development with the use of our fully stocked CPD library
- An excellent induction programme with designated induction staff and a focus on positive wellbeing.
- Extensive school grounds located in the popular market town of Frome, surrounded by beautiful countryside.
