Job description
Location: Arboretum Primary School
Hours: Part time - 7 hours 30 minutes per week Term time + 5 Inset days per year
Contract type: Permanent
We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic midday supervisor to join our Play Team.
The successful candidate will work with our large and friendly team to ensure that all of our children have happy, healthy and safe lunchtimes. This will involve supervising the children in and around the dining halls, ensuring that they eat healthy, balanced meals; and in the playground, where you will organise and supervise activities to engage the children.
At all times, you will help to maintain the high standards of behaviour that we expect at Arboretum. We are excited to be using the OPAL approach to play, to give all our children amazing play experiences, and our Play Team are a critical part of making this happen.
We are a large 643 place primary (which includes 32 children in our 2-year-old unit and 78 in our 3-year-old nursery), with a rich ethnic mix of delightful and well-behaved children. Our modern school has been refurbished and extensively extended and sits in large attractive grounds. We pride ourselves in our caring ethos and the value we place in our dedicated and friendly staff teams. We are a popular school and have a waiting list for most year groups.
Arboretum is a good school, as confirmed at our last Ofsted short inspection (November 2017). The inspectors felt that: “The pupils’ positive attitudes to learning and their respectful behaviour reflect the school’s values and the leaders’ good work to promote pupils’ personal development and welfare”.
DDAT welcomes a diverse population of both children and staff and is committed to promoting and developing equality of opportunity in all its functions.
DDAT is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. All appointments are subject to satisfactory references, online checks, completion of a probationary period, pre-employment and Disclosure Barring Service checks.
The possession of a criminal record will not necessarily prevent an applicant from obtaining this post, as all cases are judged individually according to the nature of the role and information provided.
