UX Designer - Remote-first with London/Bristol visits
The client
This UX Consultant position is within the agencies public service team. The team exists to make public services better for everyone. They do this by partnering with public service organisations to tackle their most important challenges; empowering them to deliver world-class services that are effective, inclusive, accessible, and sustainable. You’ll work with clients such as the NHS or the Department for Transport.
The role
You’ll work in a cross-functional, agile team including other UX consultants, visual designers, technologists and project managers.
Responsibilities:
- Work at all stages of the research and design process
- Work with clients to help them to understand, and then to meet their users’ needs by delivering excellent, innovative products, services and experiences
- Create research outputs, such as personas, experience maps
- Turn research and testing findings into design concepts, at varying levels of fidelity – from sketches to wireframes / rough UI designs
- Create prototypes at varying levels of fidelity, from basic click-throughs to rich, interactive prototypes
The candidate
You’ll need:
- Experience working as a UX Designer
- Experience of working within a cross-disciplinary team
- Practical knowledge and experience of UX methodology and practices
- The ability to carry out user research (both quantitative and qualitative)
- Strong communication skills and a level of natural authority to ensure clients listen to you, and people respond to you
- Emotional intelligence and an understanding of how to build strong, collaborative relationships
- To be happy to travel to the office from time to time, and to work on-site with clients if and when that is needed
- The right to live and work in the UK
Interview Process:
1. First stage – initial chat and talk through of the role/your work (circa 1 hour)
2. Second stage – Presenting work in depth and further questions with team (circa 1.5 hour)
