This is an exciting new project in its early prototyping phase, iterating rapidly to create compelling gameplay experiences with a small cross-discipline team.

Flexible working at Creative Assembly includes hybrid, fully remote within country of employment for eligible roles, and in-studio. We recognise that there is no one-size-fits-all approach and empower our teams to define the working patterns which work best for them, which may mean different things for different teams and roles and at different times.

This role is Hybrid and has an expectation of 1 day every 2 weeks in our Horsham studio. This role would consider fully remote working within country of employment. Further details can be discussed during the recruitment process.

Key Responsibilities

On a day-to-day basis, you will:
  • Work closely with the rest of the game engineering team and designers to design, prototype and implement new innovative artificial intelligence systems
  • Work closely with the lead gameplay programmer to plan, estimate and write high-quality performant AI code
  • Aid in mentoring more junior members of the team in their technical and professional development.
Knowledge, Skill and Experience

Essential
  • Extensive professional C++ programming experience
  • Experience in developing advanced AI features and systems in games, research, or other settings
  • Knowledge of Behaviour Trees, Navigation and Perception systems
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to enable effective collaboration across the project.
Desirable
  • Experience in using Unreal Engine 4 or 5 on a AAA title
  • Development experience on consoles
  • Passionate about games and solving technical problems
  • Passionate about the field of artificial intelligence in and around games.
