For our AMETEK CTS business unit, we are looking for a Microwave Test Engineer (m/f/d) at our location in Ryde on the Isle of Wight, UK.

In the UK we specifically design, develop and manufacture solid-state, high-power broadband amplifiers for commercial and government applications. These broadband amplifier products serve the EMC, communications, science and defense markets.

Key Responsibilities of the Microwave Test Engineer (m/f/d) include:

• Test a wide array of products including; RF Amplifiers of various frequencies, Tune and Test Power and Driver Modules and Sub-Assemblies to meet Customer requirements
• Ensure that any test problems associated with “first off” builds and production units, are analysed and permanent solutions put in place in consultation with the Test Department Manager.
• Liase with Engineering and Test Department Manager with respect to the improvement of “first off” or existing designs, basing the improvements on information gathered during initial tests.
• Help generate the necessary additional design information required to complete a test, in accordance with Milmega standards.
• Work with the Test Department manager to ensure workload is prioritised to meet Customer requirements.
• Highlight problems to the designated Project Engineer to ensure deviations from milestones are quickly acted on to meet customer delivery commitments.
• Implement the Quality procedures for the area.
• Carry out production test tasks as instructed by the Test Department Manager.

Position Requirements:

• Be able to work in a Production Test Environment, utilising assembly, P.C.B soldering skills and have a good working knowledge of current common microwave test equipment
• HND in Electronic Engineering or equivalent
• Effective communications skills
• Have proven problem-solving methodologies
