Microbiology Technical Expert
VQ Life Sciences are recruiting for a Permanent Microbiology Technical Expert based in North Wales. This role is for a technically strong microbiologist with at least 5 years Pharmaceutical industry experience in a senior microbiologist type role.
Role requirements
- To deliver the companies microbiology strategy within the live biotherapeutic therapies group
- To provide microbiology advice to support the wider business functions covering biosafety, regulatory compliance, pharmaceutical product development, non-sterile GMP manufacturing & microbiology laboratory activities
- To leverage microbiology expertise to ‘add business value’ by working closely with internal departments, external customers & competent authorities
- To grow & develop the companies microbiology team in-line with growing business needs
- To oversee set-up of microbiology testing laboratories & implement pharmaceutical relevant ‘quality management system’
- Oversee microbiology work currently outsourced to 3rd party laboratories
Education Requirements:
- A PhD level, senior microbiologist possessing practical, management and advisory experience – within the pharmaceutical industry
The Person
- Knowledge across a wide range of microbiology disciplines including anaerobic culture, genetic modification, bacteriophages & advanced analytical techniques
- Good customer focus & commercial awareness
- Strong communication, presentation & organisation skills
- Willingness to travel to provide customer & project support
