Do you want to be responsible for the quality and microbiological testing of recognisable household brands? Do you have a scientific background with experience of product testing in the FMCG industry?
If the answer is yes - then look no further. Church & Dwight UK Ltd have an exciting opportunity for a permanent Microbiologist to join our Quality Department based at Wear Bay Road.
As a Microbiologist you will be responsible for the testing regime on Finished Goods, Semi-Finished Products and Raw Materials. You will work closely with Quality Control (QC) to maintain high quality products for distribution.
Within this role you will be key in performing microbiological sampling and environmental monitoring of specific areas within the Production facility, as well as sampling and testing the RO process water and seawater deliveries to site.
Additional responsibilities include:
- Control and maintenance of laboratory consumables
- Maintenance and calibration of laboratory equipment
- Provide support in relevant qualification and validations
- Creation and maintenance of accurate records and produce concise reports for KPI’s, local SOPs/WIs and quality investigations
- Maintain a clean working environment in conjunction with procedures and regulatory processes
- Perform and collate data from environmental testing within the plant
- To support internal investigations requiring Microbiological testing to resolve issues within Products or Production areas.
- Promote safe and compliant working practices within the Laboratory and Production Plant
The successful candidate must have previous experience working in a laboratory environment within a regulated industry (e.g FMCG, Pharmaceuticals, Medical Devices). The ideal candidate will have experience and knowledge of GMP, ISO standards and experience of Quality tools such as Root Cause Analysis, FMEA, and CAPA.
A successful individual must be able to maintain accurate laboratory documentation as well as the ability to work safely and effectively within a small team, ability to multi-task and communicate to wider business departments.
This role works 39 hours per week Monday-Friday.
