About you

Objectives

Working predominantly on projects for the marine renewable energy sector you will join our team of oceanographers sediment transport specialists, metocean analysts and numerical modelling specialists, who provide oceanographic/metocean support projects from pre-feasibility through to construction. You will be delivering metocean projects, generating, analysing, and reporting oceanographic data to support engineering design.


You will also be supporting the team in the continual advancement and delivery of our SEASTATES and Weather Downtime Services as well as applying your skills and experience to other types of projects including port and coastal developments.


Responsibilities

We are looking for a graduate or those with an initial grounding in oceanography or marine sediment transport who is confident in applying their technical knowledge to the quantification and assessment of oceanographic data. Expertise in numerical modelling would be a significant advantage.

  • Delivering metocean assessments
  • Contributing to internal research and development initiatives
  • Preparing and contributing to the proposal / tendering process
  • Project management and client engagement

Requirements

You have:

  • Attention to detail and a willingness to apply your scientific knowledge to solve problems
  • A background in physical oceanography or marine sediment dynamics
  • A degree (and preferred, postgraduate degree) in a relevant discipline
  • An understanding of the marine consultancy would be beneficial

You are efficient, highly organised, self-motivated and can work collaboratively. Our projects are highly technical and you will be undertaking:

  • Collation and interpretation of marine data and information
  • Analysis and presentation of metocean data including use of GIS, MATLAB or other programming / scripting
  • Numerical modelling of waves and hydrodynamics
  • Report writing, presentation and communication
  • Project management
  • Written and oral communication with a range of internal and external clients / stakeholders
