SHL Services are currently looking to recruit external meter fitters on the Thames Water smart metering contract working working across London working with one of our long-term clients Morrison Water Services paying a salary of £29,900 plus overtime and a retainment bonus. ***This is a sub contract role under the CIS scheme***
Job Overview:
· You will attend a 3-week induction & training period prior to working live on the contract which is paid training
· Once training is completed you will be required to fit external water meters on the progressive metering programme
As a Meter Fitter you will have the opportunity to work on behalf of Thames Water installing Smart Meters on domestic properties and non-household (Commercial) properties. You will be required to travel in and around the entire Thames area
You will be fully trained on all aspects of External meter fitting where progression to Plumbing (Internal meter installations) and gaining a basic plumbing qualification with City and Guilds with fantastic earning potential. All we ask of you is to bring your enthusiasm to work, be able to follow instructions and adhere to health and safety legislation. You will need to be able to use mobile applications.
You will be representing Thames Water and Morrison Water Services whilst carrying out your role and be able to communicate with members of the public, so bring a smile to work.
The role will be varying and you’ll be required to work outdoors in all weathers. You will be required to walk and stand on uneven ground. You must also be able to work within a confined space, without restriction.

Other responsibilities:
· Dealing with all customer issues in accordance with the company protocol.
· Offer high customer level customer service to exceed current CSAT targets
· Report any missed jobs to the Supervisor for rescheduling.
· Ensure planning of route for the next day is suitable and the correct paperwork & equipment is available.
· Understand and acknowledge "tool box talks" and safety briefings.
· Completion and submission of Hazard spots.
· Implement all safety initiatives as directed.
· Ensure jobs meet all environmental standards.
· Complete incident reports and attend lessons learnt review.
· Carry out risk assessments when required.
